In the grand scheme - winning games - there was a tiny step back (despite some bad buys) and then progress. The facts are clear, you want to twist or whatever, carry on.

Remember, he was only a year younger when he signed, and he could have probably got CL football at another club, if that in itself meant so much to him.
Thing is who was sniffing around him last year?? Pretty sure if it was the big boys and us he'd have joined them... no matter how much Joe Cole bigged us up

So Spurs as a team have not overcome that and pushed on. You may not be able to replace a player like for like.
But Spurs dropped a whole one position the year after he left (as bad as some of their buys were) and have since had their best finish in how many years?

If France win, I suspect it would give Payet a strong feeling of satisfaction, which hopefully would encourage him to continue with us on what he called a process that shouldn't be rushed: our asscent.

No point even talking about dollars.... whatever money in the world he goes for (and I have a feeling he will) you simply cannot replace what he has done for the majority of the season.... I was hoping he'd have an ok Euro's but as it stands at the moment every bit of brilliance he shows on the pitch I fear is a step nearer him going... no matter what dosh we get for him we will not replace him... it's a simple as that
